Planned maintenance, an overloaded server.
What to test
- Turn on planned maintenance mode (or open the site during a deploy) → a maintenance page with an expected return time, not a broken layout.
- Open the maintenance page with the Network tab open → status 503, not 200.
- During a load test, watch the responses as load grows → when overloaded, some requests get 503, but the site doesn't go down completely and recovers when load drops.
